What Is

Hazardous Waste Analysis

Malaysia, like many developing countries, is heavily involved in industrial activities. These activities would generate substantial amount of hazardous wastes which would need to be disposed of in a regulated and sustainable manner. According to US EPA, for a waste to be considered hazardous, it must meet one or more of the following characteristics: ignitability, corrosivity, toxicity, reactivity, or infectious or pathogenic.

In Malaysia, hazardous wastes are referred to as scheduled wastes. Our country has regulations in place to ensure that these wastes are treated or disposed of at prescribed premises only. Our parent company Pentas Flora is one of the major providers of scheduled wastes disposal services. In Banting, where our scheduled wastes facility is located, opened its door in 2008 with a great aim of providing a green and sustainable solution to handling hazardous waste materials.

Due to the regulations imposed by the Malaysia Department of Environment, scheduled waste generators need to register at the eSWIS (Electronic Scheduled Waste Information System) all the types and amount of waste they produce at their respective facilities. Most of these wastes require lab testing as part of the registration procedure. At Pentas Flora Laboratory, we have invested in the best lab tools and equipment along with our highly qualified and experienced lab staff to provide detailed analyses on hazardous materials that your business may produce.
