Malaysia’s Energy Transition Accelerates Renewable Infrastructure Investment

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s energy and utilities sector is expected to see better investment growth as power consumption rises and renewable energy projects are developed. Initiatives such as the CRESS Acceleration Package and LSS6 could enable around 6.5GW of large-scale solar and up to 3.1GW of CRESS capacity by 2029, while TNB has secured 8.35GW of data centre capacity across 61 projects, highlighting the need for additional grid and energy infrastructure expansion.
