China’s Refined Oil Exports Surge 39.4% Amid Global Supply Disruptions

CHINA – China’s refined oil product exports increased 39.4% year on year to 7.16 million tonnes in September 2026, up 19% from August, as strong global demand and supply interruptions caused by wars in the Middle East and Russia boosted international shipments. Diesel exports have hit their highest level in more than three years, indicating rising demand for alternate fuel supplies amid continued geopolitical tensions. The increase in Chinese exports could have an impact on regional refinery operations, industrial fuel costs, and marine fuel availability, potentially affecting petroleum product markets and re-refined base oils.
