KUALA LUMPUR – Penang’s technology manufacturing sector is witnessing high demand due to the increase of artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductor equipment, and data center construction. However, production growth is hampered by long equipment delivery times and material shortages. According to Phillip Capital Research, computer numerical control (CNC) machinery can take six to 18 months to obtain, with some manufacturers securing order visibility into 2027 and 2028. Despite these hurdles, continuous demand may spur additional investment in manufacturing capacity and industrial infrastructure, thereby boosting the demand for specialised planned waste management, industrial cleaning, used lubricant collection, and environmental compliance services.
