KUALA LUMPUR – Following the early arrival of its latest clean petroleum products tanker, MT Orkim Jade, Orkim Bhd has increased its petroleum transportation fleet to 21 vessels, with a total carrying capacity of 281,534 deadweight tonnes (DWT). The new vessel has fuel-efficient engines and an onboard nitrogen generating system, allowing for safer and more efficient petroleum transportation operations. Orkim has also placed orders for two further tankers, which will be delivered in 2028, increasing its presence in Malaysia’s maritime and petroleum logistics sectors. The fleet expansion may raise demand for vessel maintenance, oily waste treatment, bilge and sludge management, and maritime environmental compliance services.
