YANBU – Saudi Aramco has resumed crude oil loadings from its Red Sea port of Yanbu, following a partial resumption of the 1,200-kilometer East-West Pipeline. Operations along the crucial bypass corridor were temporarily halted on September 11 due to drone attacks, but throughput has since resumed to between 2.65 and 3.5 million barrels per day. Satellite imagery and vessel-tracking data indicated that approximately 10 million barrels of petroleum were loaded onto tankers at Yanbu and the neighbouring Al Muajjiz terminal, restoring Middle East export capacity to nearly 80% of pre-disruption levels. The operational recovery at Yanbu provides critical supply relief by allowing oil shipments to avoid the congested Strait of Hormuz chokepoint.
