KUALA LUMPUR – TMK Chemical Bhd announced a landmark RM939.9 million acquisition to purchase 100% of Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad (CCM) from Batu Kawan Bhd. The strategic deal, funded by RM438.5 million in cash and the issue of 262.5 million additional TMK shares, incorporates CCM’s nine operating manufacturing facilities across Peninsular Malaysia into TMK’s inorganic chemicals platform. This horizontal integration not only consolidates Malaysia’s largest chlor-alkali and polymer chemical production capacity, but it also expands regional B2B logistics networks and unlocks critical operational economies of scale, all while increasing continuous industrial processing demands and hazardous chemical byproduct output across the supply chain. For circular energy and waste management providers, this increased manufacturing footprint emphasises the importance of certified eSWIS planned waste recovery and greener thermal energy options such as Re-refined Base Oil (RRBO) in keeping energy-intensive boilers compliant and cost-effective.
