Global Net-Zero Commitments Remain Steady Despite Economic and Political Uncertainty

SINGAPORE – According to the most recent Net Zero Tracker assessment, governments and businesses throughout the world are still committed to net-zero emissions despite persistent geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainties. According to the research, 47% of the over 4,000 businesses examined have set net-zero targets, which has remained steady since 2025, while 64% of large companies are sticking to their promises. 78% of entities with net-zero targets have begun publishing implementation plans, up from 69% the previous year, indicating progress in climate action planning. The continuous emphasis on decarbonisation may drive further investment in waste reduction, resource recovery, and environmental reporting, potentially increasing demand for sustainable industrial waste management and circular economy solutions.
