KUALA LUMPUR – SD Guthrie Bhd reported a 16% year-on-year growth in net profit to RM2.32 billion in the first nine months of 2026, indicating improved financial performance throughout its plantation activities. Despite promising findings, the organization remains worried about anticipated El Niño-related weather disruptions, as extended dry conditions could harm palm oil production in Indonesia by 2027. While the company’s prognosis for the plantation industry remains optimistic, climate-related concerns may have an impact on future output levels, plantation upkeep, and operations planning. These changes could have an impact on demand for industrial waste management, used lubricant collection, and scheduled trash services at palm oil mills and plantation sites.
